LAURIE CASTLEBERRY, LPCC, NCC
THERAPIST | AUTISM & ADHD INFORMED

I believe feeling understood in therapy is the beginning of meaningful change.

Have you spent years feeling like you’re too much, not enough, or somehow just different?

You’re in the right place.

You may be here because something in your life feels harder than it used to. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, burned out, or simply ready for something to change. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to have the perfect words—or know exactly where to begin.

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, respected, and free to be yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. We'll work together to make sense of what you're experiencing, recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools that actually fit you—not a one-size-fits-all idea of how therapy is supposed to work.

I especially enjoy working with adults navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and the unique challenges that can come with being neurodivergent. My goal isn't to change who you are.

How I work

Therapy with me isn’t all sitting & talking.

We’ll also work on real, practical skills that you can apply to your day-to-day life.

Therapy can be a place to talk, but it can also be a place to learn, practice, and make meaningful changes. Depending on what you need, we may explore your thoughts and patterns, build coping strategies, work through difficult experiences, or develop tools to make everyday life feel more manageable.

  • Understand yourself better — including your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and behaviors.

  • Build practical coping skills for anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and emotional regulation.

  • Develop strategies that work with your brain, especially when navigating ADHD or autism.

  • Work through past experiences that may still be affecting how you feel and respond today.

My core values

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, respected, and accepted for who you are. I value authenticity, compassion, and creating a space where you don't have to mask, pretend, or have everything figured out. I believe in practical support that helps you navigate real life, while also making space to understand the experiences and patterns that have shaped you. Most importantly, I believe growth isn't about changing who you are—it's about understanding yourself, recognizing your strengths, and building a life that feels more manageable and meaningful to you.

Compassion

I care deeply about the people I work with. I know that life can be hard, and I don't believe you need to be judged for struggling. I meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and try to understand the person behind what you're experiencing.

Connection

I believe that feeling comfortable with your therapist matters. I want our work together to feel genuine and collaborative, where you can be yourself and know that I’m really listening. I don't expect you to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We’ll build trust over time and work together at a pace that feels right for you.

Trust

I know that opening up to someone about the parts of your life that are difficult isn't always easy. I want you to feel safe being honest with me, even when things are messy or uncomfortable. I’ll be honest with you, respect your boundaries, and follow through on the work we’re doing together. Trust takes time, and I believe it’s something we build together.

Safety

I want therapy to feel like a place where you can take a breath and let your guard down. You don't have to worry about saying the “right” thing or being judged for what you're feeling. I work to create a space where you can be honest, ask questions, and talk about difficult things while knowing that your experiences will be treated with care and respect.
